Liturgical
Life
Everything
we do flows from prayer. We come to Mass
to praise; to be lifted up;
and to be
nourished to go out and share. Perhaps
you would enjoy helping with one of the following ministries:

Art & Environment Team…is the group that works hard to make sure
the environment of the church changes with the seasons and appropriate
feasts. They work extremely hard for
special occasions like Christmas and Easter, but they also work at Advent, Lent
& other seasons and events. Staff Contact: Tom Leber
Children’s Liturgy of the
Word…is
the regular Sunday Liturgy of the Word adapted for children ages 6—10. It is

Extraordinary Ministers of
Holy Communion…are the people that help distribute the Body and Blood of Christ
at weekend Masses. They are called
“extraordinary” because the priests & deacons are called the “ordinary.”
They are ordained for this service but others can help them. These people must
be approved by the Pastoral Staff, go to a training session and be commissioned
for this service. This is a very
important ministry.
Staff Contacts: Tom Leber; Sr. Mary Jon Wagner
Ecumenical Team…members work with other churches in the
area to help build Christian unity.
Annual events include the “Week of Prayer for Christian Unity” in
January and an ecumenical Thanksgiving Prayer service on Thanksgiving Eve with
Grace Episcopal Church.

Greeters…are the smiley people that welcome people
to weekend liturgies and special occasions.
This is a ministry that every member of our church should be involved
in. You know how nice it is to be
welcomed when you go somewhere—that’s the way we want people to feel when they
visit our church. Everyone can help this
ministry by being friendly to those around them—particularly visitors! This ministry team stands at the doors of the
church to greet. Staff Contact: Tom Leber
Lectors and Commentators…have the great honor to proclaim the Word,
and to lead the prayers of the faithful for the parishioners. They must attend a training class and be
evaluated. Not everyone that reads has
the gifts necessary to proclaim well.
Staff Contacts: Tom Leber; Sr. Mary Jon Wagner
Liturgy Team…members study, discuss
and recommend for liturgical policies and guidelines. They also evaluate liturgical seasons and
particular “big” liturgical celebrations.

Mass Coordinators…are extraordinary ministers of Holy
Communion that agree to get all of the vessels set up for Mass, and make sure
that all of the scheduled liturgical positions are covered. They also clean all of the ciboriums and cups after

as long as they are able to play in-tune and up to speed. Staff

Music Selection Team…this group meets once a month to study the
weekend scriptures and plan the music for weekend Masses. We don’t just pick hymns we like, but spend
considerable time trying to find music that amplifies what the scriptures for
that particular weekend are saying. This
group also checks out which new songs would be good for our congregation.

Stewardship Committee…is made up of parishioners who understand that
stewardship is not really about money or time or talent. It is a way of life stemming from that
realization that
Ushers…are men & women that help to seat
people, make them feel welcome, and take up the collection at weekend and holy
day liturgies. Staff Contact: Tom Leber
