Ministry to Parishioners

 

Altar & Rosary Societyis a group of women parishioners that meet socially monthly.  They generally have a speaker.  These ladies help raise money to cover the cost of hosts for the parish.

Bereavement Teammembers meet with families and survivors to plan funerals.  They sit with the family members, suggest scriptures and help them through the planning process.  This team also plans and hosts an annual service on All Soul’s day, remembering those who have died over the past year.  Staff Contact: Sr. Mary Jon Wagner

 

Catholic Cemeterieshas a board made with representatives from all three Catholic parishes in Sandusky and works with the Catholic Cemeteries in Sandusky.  Staff Contact: Fr. Marty Nassr

 

Communications Committeehas been producing the Parish Voice Newsletter as well as handling in-house communications.  Staff contact: Abby Ring

 

Discernment of Ministry Teamis a newly established team that will work with parishioners to help flush out the gifts that they have.  So many believe that they are not gifted.  This team works to dispel that myth. Staff Contacts: Sr. Mary Jon Wagner; Cheryl Pawlowski

 

Funeral Luncheon Teamprovides a lunch after funerals, usually in the Gathering Space.  There are teams that help to serve and many volunteers that make food for the luncheons.  A great ministry to share your culinary skill.  Staff Contact: Abby Ring

 

Marriage Enrichmentthis team is newly formed to help build and provide support for existing marriages.  Staff Contact: Fr. Marty Nassr

 

Parish Nurseswork to provide information to parishioners on ways to maintain and build their health.  They occasionally present seminars; post other resources; and offer blood pressure checks once a month after all the Masses.  Staff Contact: Abby Ring

 

Prayer Networkmembers pray for anyone and everyone that request prayer.  Those who request it get put on a moving list that reaches a whole lot of parishioners willing to pray.

Sick & Homebound Ministrytakes the Body of Christ from the assembly to those who are unable to join us.  Those that share in this ministry must be commissioned Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion.  This group also visits Nursing Homes and the Fireland’s Hospital.

Social Activities Teamworks at providing fun, social activities for parishioners interaction.  Their event’s are not about fund-raising, but about building relationships.  This group provides coffee and donuts the second Sunday of each month as well as other social activities.

Tinsel & Tears Ministrythis provides an evening of reflection and hope for those that have a difficult time getting through the holidays after a major loss.  This evening is held in November.  Staff Contact: Tom Leber

 

Welcoming/Registrationhelps new parishioners get registered; discern their gifts; understand what membership means; and helps them feel welcome.  This group also introduces them to Pastoral Staff members that are available as well as other parishioners.  Staff Contact: Linda Pedoli
